A Day in the Life of a Living Oaks Academy Student

Worship Arts: Pursuing the presence of Jesus through arts, bible, prayer.

Mini Lessons: Short, small group instruction to learn, practice, and master skills that will be used in projects and in life.

Creative Arts: Time to focus on studying the creative arts and developing skills that will allow students to express their own knowledge, joys, challenges, and observations of life, creating space for each student to grow in their God-given creative nature.

Projects: The learning process that gives students freedom to connect knowledge and skills through the development of critical thinking, cooperation, independence, and creativity.

Stand Up Meetings: Planning how to manage their day on tasks needed to complete the week’s project checkpoint.

Researching: Working from materials provided to learn the information for the checkpoint, as well as the skills, ideas, and materials needed to represent all they learn through the project assignment.

Planning: Drafting, gathering materials, creating notecards, and taking responsibility for pieces to be accomplished.

Building: Working to create with excellence in the appropriate sequence through to completion.

Creating: Taking responsibility for creatively expressing knowledge, ideas, and solutions learned through the project

Presenting: Introducing and teaching knowledge and connections made throughout the project with family, friends, and community members with excellence.

PE, Lunch, Recess: The places to build relationship, have fun, learn self-control, cooperation, and responsibility
