High School at Living Oaks Academy
Students are encouraged to pursue their passions and explore different areas and skills to be prepared for life after high school. Whether going into the workforce or pursuing a college degree our students leave LOA ready for success. Excellence in every area of life is our priority.
A Christ-Centered Education
Our high school program is built on the unshakable truths of the Bible. We believe that students should graduate not only with academic knowledge, but with a deep understanding of who Jesus is and the promises of abundant life He has given us.... From daily worship to biblical discussions to life reflections integrated into assignments, students are constantly encouraged to keep their eyes on Jesus and view the world through the eyes of our Creator.
Project-Based Learning: A Hands-On Approach to Education
We believe that the best learning happens through experience. Our project-based learning (PBL) model ensures that students are not just passive learners but active participants in their education. Instead of simply memorizing information for a test, students engage in hands-on projects that require them to research, analyze, and present their findings in a creative and meaningful way.
- Solving Real-World Problems – Each project is designed to challenge students to apply their knowledge to real-life situations, preparing them for college, careers, and beyond.
- Independent and Collaborative Learning – While students take ownership of their projects, they also work alongside their peers, refining their ability to communicate, lead, and support one another.
- Innovation and Creativity – We encourage students to think outside the box and present their solutions in unique ways, whether through multimedia presentations, written reports, or interactive demonstrations.
-
Choosing Excellence: We push students to choose excellence in every area of life. With each new project, we hold them to a high standard of integrity as they work through directions and standards provided. We challenge them to dig deeper and make more connections between core topics across curriculum. We increase expectations of quality materials used to create, of the accuracy of the applied knowledge, and of the precision and professionalism with which they present a final product.
Teamwork and Leadership Development
At Living Oaks Academy, students don’t just learn in isolation—they learn together. Teamwork is an essential part of our high school experience, teaching students how to collaborate, problem-solve, and accomplish goals as a group.
- Group Projects – Whether in science, history, or business classes, students work together to tackle complex problems and create solutions.
- Leadership Opportunities – Students take on various roles within their teams, learning how to lead effectively and support others in their strengths.
- Real-World Collaboration – Our students participate in service-learning projects, community initiatives, and partnerships with local organizations to practice teamwork in authentic settings.
